MP Mathyssen's Statement on COVID-19
In the spirit of collaboration the House of Commons, agreed by Unanimous Consent, to temporarily suspend the current sitting of the House of Commons. In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, Members of Parliament felt it was important to break for 5 weeks and return to their ridings.
Canadians often see Members of Parliament’s differences and debate while in the House of Commons. What people should see is all parties coming together with the same mission – to tackle and minimize the spread of COVID-19.
My constituency office will continue to be open to the public, keeping regular hours and offering services. When appropriate, my staff will make efforts to communicate via phone and email to minimize contact with the public, to do our part in maintaining social distance. If you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 or travel you should refer to the government websites listed below. As always, I remain committed to ensuring the people of London-Fanshawe receive the highest level of service.
I also recognize that COVID-19 will have a serious impact on paid and unpaid caregivers, and front-line workers. I want to personally thank them for their continued dedication and hard work on behalf of the people on London.
We will be providing updated information on the COVID-19 situation on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/LindsayMathyssenNDP
